So it was the massive comeback - Britpop legends Blur playing the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Damon Albarn said it himself - "why did we decide to play here? Because we always play here"

The gig involved all the big hits, a thoroughly bouncey (yet starkly midlde class 30+) audience, a wardrobe malfunction for Damon Albarn (slippy shoes) which led to him switching shoes with one of his crew.

The one down side - it was SO LIGHT. I think they'd brought their stadium lighting rig with them, and were using all of it. Up in the balcony (a first for me, to be honest, and not an experience I will repeat) it did feel a little bit like "An Audience with Blur". I fully expected people to start standing up and asking cringingly cheesy questions about the bands childhoods.

The gig was good tho - I can see why they decided to reform. Damon Albarn was an maniacal as ever (including a surprise stage dive), Graham Coxon simply rocked it ...

Great night - catch them at Glasto, T in the Park or Oxegen if you can!
